Biography

Amelie Goldfuß is a designer, new media artist, researcher and educator. She has presented her work at Zeche Zollverein Essen, Technische Sammlungen Dresden, Chaos Communication Congress and Beirut Design Week. She was a lecturer in Experimental Design Methods and Industrial Design at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design. In 2020 she co-founded the Moving Target Collective, a trans-disciplinary working group that engaged artistically, creatively and scientifically with AI harm, AI literacy and feminist technology. Amelie occasionally tours rural Saxony as part of the Fabmobil crew teaching creative technologies to kids, and is currently exploring regional circular futures with the Stellschrauben association.

At the Robotic Nailart Studio you can get your nails done by Dobby the robot. During this happy clash of tech and beauty Dobby is doing his best to cater to your manicure needs and to help you examine questions about robotic autonomy and human and machine collaboration.

What typically encourages or motivates you to acquire a new (technological) skill?

An idea or a plan that needs to be put into action or the urge to gain deeper understanding of a certain technology through making.
